Brownies Coastwatch
In December 2009 I was involved in the importation of a custom built sport fishing vessel called Megumi from Fiji, which I will operating for marlin charters out of Manly Harbour in Brisbane. Megumi had been driven over to Fiji after being built in Brisbane by Assegai Marine in 2006 and we decided that it would be safer to drive it back.
We then had to deal with the importation of the boat back into Australia and a good friend of mine who imports boats from the USA, told me that to make it easy and to be sure everything was correct, I should contact Kane Bygrave from Aurora Global Logistics.
It was great advice as the process is somewhat complex, but with Kane’s guidance and professional services, it became very simple and given the time saved and the worry of getting all right alleviated, it was well worth the moderate fee charged to do the job.
What was impressive was the quick service we got from Customs and Quarantine and I have no doubt that our importation process was made much easier because both those organisations are familiar with Aurora Global Logistics and have a good working relationship with them.
Given my good experience, I recommend using Aurora Global Logistics to anyone importing a boat. Kane and the team did a great job for me and they were very easy to deal with.
