The JV62 Mini Maxi Whisper was successfully loaded onto a liner vessel on Sunday, 4th May, marking the start of her journey to the UK and the upcoming European racing calendar.
Upon arrival at London Gateway Terminal, our UK partners—Peters & May, acting as lead agents—will manage her temporary importation and oversee her onward transport by road to the South of England.
Extensive planning was carried out to ensure the safe handling of the yacht at both departure and arrival points, aligning with the client’s schedule. To accommodate transport requirements, the keel was removed and the yacht was shipped in a “low position” cradle. The move to the terminal took place in the early hours to meet “out of gauge” road transport regulations. Her 29-metre mast was transported separately on a dedicated trailer. Additionally, the 40-foot workshop container accompanying the yacht underwent a full seaworthy re-certification process.
Loading day brought perfect weather, allowing for a smooth operation as our surveyor and yacht crew completed all lashings. The vessel set sail the following day, Monday, with Whisper bound for new challenges on the racecourse.
We wish the owners and crew every success for the season ahead.
